Bremen and Bremershaven join Mayors for Peace

The Mayors of Bremen and Bremerhaven, two cities in Northern Germany that share the same river, have together announced their membership in Mayors for Peace on Anti-War-Day (Sept 1). They wrote in a letter to Dr. Herbert Schmalstieg, the representative for Germany in Mayors for Peace, "No more war – that was and still is the motto of Anti-War-Day and it remains still very applicable. A peaceful world, to which armed conflict between individual states and groups of people, as well as brutal terrorism, belong to the past, is still far away.”
