My city is member of Mayors for Peace
Once a mayor is member of Mayors for Peace there are many things he/she can do:1.Invite other Mayors to join the network
You can invite colleagues who have not joined the network to do so now. This is a high priority towards the 25th anniversary of the Mayors for Peace. Here we recommend to use the model of having a group of mayors from several political parties sending a common letter attached to a letter from the mayor of Hiroshima.
2. Ask your City Council to vote a resolution to support the work of Mayors for Peace 2020 Vision Campaign financially.
The cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have carried the financial responsibility for Mayors for Peace for the past 25 years. Let's demonstrate our solidarity.
An increasing number of Belgian City Councils Mayors have adopted city resolutions to financially contribute to the success of the 2020 campaign.
Plans are underway in other countries such as France, Germany, Italy, UK and USA. You can find the draft of this resolution

3. 20 (Twenty) other ideas in a Campaign Kit
In June 2006 the City of Ypres (Belgium) and the NGO Friends of the Earth produced a campaign kit with 20 very practical proposals how mayors and civil society can get involved. Through communications, education, common activities and political work

4. Send us your ideas and reports
Mail us your suggestions and reports so we can share them with other campaigners. And do us a big favor! When you mail us your report keep it short with the five w's in the first paragraph: when, where, who, what, and why? Mail us also a good picture(s) of the event for the website.
